Gas detectors are increasingly used. Whether it is environmental monitoring, safe production, or scientific research experiments, they all require gas detectors. When the gas concentration exceeds the standard, the instrument will automatically sound an alarm to remind personnel to protect themselves. So how much do you know about the measurement area of a gas detector? Below, the editor of Zechuan Technology will introduce this issue to you.
Measurement area of gas detector:
The measurement area of a gas detector is also not a fixed value and will be affected by many factors.
1. Measurement area of portable gas detector
For portable gas detectors, it is difficult to give an exact measurement area due to their relatively small detection range and strong mobility.
But generally speaking, under ideal conditions, the area covered by each detection may be around 20 to 40 square meters.
2. Measurement area of fixed gas detectors
For fixed gas detectors, the measurement area mainly depends on the installation location, gas characteristics, environmental conditions, and the performance of the detector.
In a warehouse with a height of about 5 meters and good ventilation, a fixed detector installed on the ceiling for detecting gases lighter than air (such as methane) has an effective measurement radius of 5 meters, so its measurement area is about 80 square meters (π×8²).
If it is in a workshop with poor ventilation, small space and obstacles, the effective measurement radius of a fixed detector for detecting gases heavier than air (such as sulfur dioxide) may be only 3.5 meters, and the measurement area is about 40 square meters (π×3²).
The above is the sharing of the measurement area of gas detectors for everyone. It should be noted that these are only rough estimates, and the actual measurement area will vary depending on the specific situation.
